I'm Not Scared

I couldn't stay up to watch the game last night/this morning. There was nothing exciting about waking up to the wife telling you that the Wings lost in 4 overtimes. I don't understand why Red Wing fans thought that today wasn't a scheduled day for the parade. In case you didn't notice, the streets were blocked off tonight in preparation for it. Holmstrom is playing through his injury. That's why we didn't see much of him last night.

Finally, and unfortunately, I have no news about the new scheduled day for the parade. My friend is keeping his ears open, but from what he told me, the Red Wings personnel that he talks to are on edge this morning. But I'm Not Scared.

wow what a fan. Can't stay up for something happens once every 15 years for ur favorite team... what's more important than that? Changing the plans of a parade?

Anonymous said...

not only that, but the game ended in 3 OT not 4. you truly are a dedicated fan...douche

You're not scared, because you don't care. Couldn't even stay up to see your team carry the cup around the ice...

Anonymous said...

You're not scared. Right. Couldn't stay up to watch the game because you're scared of the dark, eh? Probably sleeping with Mommy.

YOU'RE A DISGRACE.

Seriously, Joker. You couldn't stay up to watch that? I've got a full-time job and evening law summer classes, and I stayed up for every minute.

And let's be honest, it's not hard to block streets in Detroit for a parade at a moments notice--it's not like the place is a bustling center of commerce downtown. All you need to do is push the crackheads off to the sidewalks around Grand Circus.

Maybe if you've got nothing better to do, you can help me plan a parade in the Burgh on Sunday.

Tell ya what, if you want to go a parade, I'd take 94 South and 80 East to 76 East.

I have a feeling that there's gonna be a parade down there after game 7.

you couldn't stay up? Some fan you are.

I'm functioning off of 90 minutes of sleep and will be putting in a 10 hr day at work.

You're a joke, and I don't care where you work.

In re: to your comments about suing the Pens Blog, let's put on our lawyer pants and take a look at this. In New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254, 279-80, 11 L. Ed. 2d 686, 84 S. Ct. 710 (1964), it was ruled that the deliberate choice of an interpretation, though arguably reflecting a misconception, was not enough to create a jury issue of 'malice'.

I dont understand if this is serious or a joke. Why are you wet dreaming about a parade?

Anonymous said...

You had to rely on your wife to let you know what happened? She sounds like the true fan so maybe she should be authoring blogs in your family. Wow - what a Lame Fan.

Too busy adjusting your tampon and whacking off to old New Kids on the Block videos to watch the game?

Streets blocked off? No... I didn't notice it being any different than it has been since winter. I live downtown on Washington Blvd. I can see Woodward from my balcony. There are always street barricades off to the side there in the summer. They use them for traffic control for baseball games. Also, there were a lot of barricades still in place around Hart Plaza from the Red Bull Air Races the day before.

As for your statement... "I don't understand why Red Wing fans thought that today wasn't a scheduled day for the parade"...

Are there preparations for a parade? Yes. In fact, Pittsburg too has a plan. You have to have contingency plans. However, it will never be the next day unless the game was perhaps a day game, giving them ample time to set up.

Having been involved in the preparation and execution of several large events in the downtown area, it is impossible to do overnight. When several hundred thousand people are going to be in the area there are certain things that need to be in place. For instance, Police. I have several friends in the DPD. The were on alert and in position in the event of a celebration last night, but they were not on call for crowd control at a parade today. How about PortaJohns? You can't have several hundred thousand people in Hart Plaza without restrooms. There are 2 permanant bathrooms there. Whenever there is an event, you have to have temporary facilities in place. You need time to get things set up. 10-12 hours does not get it done.

How about a stage, and sound system? How about media alerts and television coverage in which camera towers are erected? All of that stuff is rented. Hart plaza is a concrete bowl. They don't have that stuff.

Just admit you were wrong. And when can we see a photo of your wife? Clearly she is the better half of the couple. You couldn't stay up? Are you serious? Your words... "I wanted to get the jump on everything and have this blog become the center of all planning surrounding the inevitable Stanley Cup Parade in Detroit". You want to be the center of all planning but you can't even stay up and watch the game? Did you have to work in the morning? That shouldn't have mattered... remember... you were calling in sick... the parade is today. You're an idiot.

Pittsburg = Pittsburgh ... sorry. See, I admit when I make mistakes.

I just read back through the comments made by Wings fans under his last post, where they ask this guy to stop giving out false information and pointing out that he is making them all look bad. That is certainly true. God bless this blog - it is comedy gold.

STEVE BARTMAN!

Anonymous said...

yeah, how the hell do you fall asleep. for what, so you can get up for a parade? you are ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

First off, why would you expect a stupid internet blog to be the central organizer for a championship parade? As if the mayor and city officials would have had to run their plans past you.

Secondly, not only did you not stay up to watch that epic came last night, but you voluntarily ADMITTED IT ON YOUR DUMB-A$$ BLOG!!! wow.

Thirdly, if i had anything to do with the city of detroit, the red wings organization, or was even just another fan of the team, i would be extremely embarrassed by pretty much everything you do.

But i'm not a wings fan, so I thank you for giving us Pens fans some humorous things to read online. Keep it up!!!

Are there preparations for a parade? Yes. In fact, Pittsburg [sic] too has a plan.

As someone who works in the Pittsburgh Public Works Department executive offices and who would be DIRECTLY involved in any such plans, I can assure you that your above quoted claim is pure fiction.

No plans are currently made but would only take a day to accomplish.

wow your not a fan at all. Your a disgrace to all true Wings fans out there. Please delete this blog. Your a waste. If not for the Pensblog, no one would even would of found this piece of crap.

I apologize. What I should have said is most cities have contingency plans for celebration parades. I did not mean to indicate that Pittsburgh had specific plans for a parade for winning the Stanley Cup this year. However, most cities have a plan as far as routes and stage/podium locations for celebration parades in general. Details are then ironed out upon actually winning a championship.

You are a wussy. I'm 16 and even I stayed up till midnight for that, no questions asked.
To quote TMZ Lee "is like a fart in a mitten. You know it's there, you can't stand it, but you can't get rid of it." That was said about Paris Hilton. Good job stooping to the lowest level ever.
I hate you, I think you're a gay momma's boy. If you're really 28 you would have stayed up for the whole game.
Oh, and your husband is wrong to, it was in 3 OT.., You're damn lucky your team didn't win.

And as soon as you sue the pensblog for defamation I'll gladly sue you for libel, since there's no parade today

I have read some douchey things on blog sites today pertaining to the game last night, but yours takes the cake. For all the parade planning and "devotion" to your team, you can't even stay up for the game or even take in the SportsCenter highlights and get an understanding to what actually happened. Glad you are NOT a Pens fan, buddy.

brett said...

you didn't even watch the game?

saddest thing i've ever heard.

I work in a law firm that has an internet wing. The Detroit Red Wings had contacted me about a lawsuit against this blog, because you defame them. Also, your wife has contacted us for similar reasons. I suggest you cease and desist immediately!

Anonymous said...

Lee,
Thank you for getting all the information right before you posted. That's sarcasm.

Why are you keeping this alive? Seriously. The only people who read this are Pens fans. And the few Wings fans who are masochistic enough to read it, agree with the pens fans.
Lee, 9 out of 10 people agree (pens fans and wings fans alike) that you need to stop. now.

i can't believe you didn't watch the whole game. That was one of the greatest games ever played and you missed it.

Also, just for the record, Jokestrom isn't the only person playing through an injury right now. Don't try to make him out to be some kind of a hero. Everyone's hurt at this point in the season. Christ, Malone took one to the FACE and came back to play. Jokestrom is just another over-the-hill never-was playing for a team that's finally met it's match.

How's that parade going Lee? You are a disgrace. You should probably change your identity and move away before someone in Detroit kicks your ass.

it humors me that your wife was up late enough to watch the game and you were in bed sleeping. she was probably out doing what she does best good sir. to not stay up and watch your team hypothetically win the cup (which obviously did not happen) in overtime to boot is pretty pathetic. you should be ashamed to be a sports fan, let alone a fan of such a storied franchise like the wings.

pathetic.

Even better than your parade organizing skillz going to waste is the hasty abandonment of presenting the Stanley Cup last night. In the last few minutes of the game, the Stanley Cup was put on ready display, decorations and banners were hung, and sheets of plastic were adhered to the Wings' locker room walls for when wine was to be sprayed all over the place. Reporters were ready for a frenzy of interviews with the team. Everything was ready, with about 30 seconds to go.

Then Talbot scored, and they had to take everything down and hide it before the loser Red Wings sulked into the locker room.

*XD moment here*

And did anyone notice how polite Osgood was to the reporters trying to interview him? He just walked right by like the terrible loser he is. Fleury, on the other hand, stayed awake and answered all questions even though he could barely keep his eyes open after blocking 55 of 58 shots over the time of two full games.

tl;dr - You want the Cup? Too bad. You want a victory parade? Lol.

Lee, buddy, who would have thought you could possibly sink to any lower of a level after you've looked like quite possibly the biggest fool alive over the past week. You pulled that off by showing that you were faking as a fan all along. No fan sleeps through that game. Since you are assuring us all that the parade was tomorrow, you had to get your rest for the big parade, and that's why you couldn't stay up? Good call on that one too.

I truly hope, for your sake, that the picture on here is not actually you. If the Pens go on to win this series, you are the new Bartman, and, you can go from enjoying defaming remarks on blogs (that's sarcasm.) to receiving death threats.

Who are you Lee P., and how can you endure making yourself look like the biggest joke alive?

Lawyer? Based on your defamation discussion, you are either a lawyer who doesn't have a clue, or no lawyer at all. I pray for the latter, because, if you are an attorney, you are embarrassing our profession, bud.

Wings fan? Umm...no.
Hockey fan? No.

Heterosexual husband? Doubtful.

What is wrong with you? are you Gay? Why do you give a rat's ass about a parade? seriously? You care more about going to a parade than watching your team win the cup? I don't care if the Penguins drove around my neighborhood in pope-mobiles, as long as they hoist the cup. you are not a fan, I doubt you are even serious, this has to be a horribly unfunny joke.

either way, I hate you with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.

oh, one more thing, regarding the title of this post. "I'm not scared" ? in the words of the late great Yoda..."You Will Be"

FireFox said...

Let me understand this. You are a Wings fan so confident that they will win the Stanley Cup that you started a parade blog after only 2 games? You later post about how "tonight is the night" because you just KNOW they are going to win it. But when it goes into overtime you don't stay up to watch the potential presentation of the Stanley Cup?

What kind of hockey fan are you? I am a Pens fan and I saw how the Pens were getting killed in just about every statistic. I knew that there was a good possibility that we were going to lose that game and I would watch the Cup presented to the Wings. But I watch the game for that. I am a hockey fan and a Penguins fan win or lose. And you couldn't bother to stay up and watch the game?

Even my wife who only has an passing interest in hockey when I am watching it stayed up to watch. You are not even a casual fan and yet you start this stupid blog? Seriously, stop watching hockey. You are insult to hockey fans and certainly an insult to the Red Wings fans that actually have a passion for the game.

Go watch some golf. Tiger seems to think that no one watches hockey anymore. Now a "no one" can be watching his sport.

LETS GO PENS!!!

I really want to meet this guy.

I have a hard time believing any of this crap that he posted. How could anyone write such ridiculous things? I mean, going from planning a parade to not even watching an OT where your team could win the Cup? It doesn't make a lick of sense!

So Lee, please post a way that we can message you (either email, Facebook, MySpace). Or at least defend yourself on these comments and your ridiculousness.

Thank you.

Guys, Lee really is married. Just too bad he woke up to her getting home from being banged from his best friend who told his wife about the outcome of the game. The friend told her it went three OTs and then banged her four times, so that's where the confusion came from.

It's confirmed... There will in fact be a game tonight! In further breaking news, there will be at least 1 goal scored.

I only hope our buddy Lee P. manages another post on this blog. As big of an idiot (in my opinion... lawsuit protection) that he is, it has been quite interesting coming here to see what this guy comes up with next, and then the comments that follow.

Great fan you are Lee P.

If your wife thought the game was 4 OT, she was just mixing it up with some one on one she had with Sid while you sucking stick with Don Cherry.

You didn't even stay up for the best game in recent NHL memory. Are you pathetic or what?

You don't even give a shit about the Cup, do you?
